As one of the biggest losses of power in a drivetrain. Chains need to be well maintained and looked after. Anything between 2 and 5 percent of your output can be taken by the chain. Up to 1 percent also being lost via your jockey wheels.
By maintaining your chain, you can reduce the friction between the plates and the rollers that form parts of your chain. Lubricating the chain effectively can massively reduce the friction. Drivetrain efficiency is normally around 95%, but with a specially lubricated chain, this can rise to around 97 and 98 percent.
I achieve this by a combination of ultrasonic cleaning to remove all products that the chain was initially coated with and replacing the lubrication with my own special mixture of wax and oil. This is combined with heat and ultrasonic waves to get into every part of the chain.
After this, the chain is then run through a 10-mile test on my jig to remove all excess coating and make sure the chain is running at optimal performance, then reapplied with a small amount of lubrication and a protective powder, before being packed and sent out to the user.

Looking after your chain
Missin Linc chains are simple to look after. The first 250-300 miles they should not need any cleaning or lubrication. If your chain gets dirty, use a paper towel and wipe it clean. After the initial mileage, the lubrication will start to wear off. Unlike other companies, who would love you to send the chain back for recoating. I feel this is not the best solution. So as part of the purchase price. I include 25ml of my own lubrication to use as you would with any of your normal lubes to keep the chain running with great efficiency for the life of your chain
